Context

A growing distributor network that had outpaced its tools.

Genus, a leading energy equipment manufacturing company, operates an extensive distributor network across multiple regions. As operations grew, so did the need for visibility across the supply chain.

To support that growth, Genus required a centralized digital platform to manage distributor interactions, schemes, and financial workflows efficiently — replacing processes that had become fragmented across disconnected tools and manual coordination.

The core of the problem was integration: SAP ran the business, but the distributor-facing processes around it operated in silos, out of sync with the ERP that everything else depended on.

Key Challenges

Four problems that a distributor network can't grow through.

Each challenge compounded the others — schemes, settlements, SPGS, and SAP were all straining against the same missing foundation.

01

Complex scheme management

Genus operated multiple distributor incentive schemes simultaneously, each with unique eligibility criteria, tier structures, and settlement rules. Without a flexible digital system, configuring and managing these schemes was error-prone, time-consuming, and lacked transparency for internal teams and distributors alike.

02

SPGS automation gaps

The Solar Power Generating System (SPGS) product line required end-to-end automation across ordering, tracking, and fulfilment. Existing processes relied on manual coordination between sales, logistics, and distributors, creating delays and visibility gaps throughout the SPGS lifecycle.

03

Inefficient scheme settlement

Scheme settlements were handled through manual calculations and approvals, leading to delayed payouts, disputed amounts, and strained distributor relationships. The lack of a centralized settlement engine made reconciliation across regions and product lines a significant operational burden.

04

ERP integration challenges

Genus relied on SAP as its core ERP, but distributor-facing processes operated in silos with no real-time data synchronization. Orders, payments, credit limits, and product information were often out of sync between SAP and distributor-facing tools, causing operational friction and data inconsistencies.

Our Approach

Partner with the business, then build the platform around how it actually runs.

Kansoft partnered with Genus's distribution and IT teams to design and deliver a comprehensive DMS platform — mapping the real workflows first, then engineering a scalable system, a real-time integration layer, and the mobility that extends it to the field.

STEP 01

Business Process Mapping

In-depth workshops with distribution, finance, and IT stakeholders to map existing workflows, identify automation opportunities, and define requirements for scheme management, order processing, and settlement.

STEP 02

Custom Platform Development

Designed and built the DMS platform on .NET Core with MS SQL — a scalable foundation able to accommodate Genus's complex business rules and growing distributor network.

STEP 03

Integration Strategy

Architected a real-time, bi-directional SAP integration layer keeping orders, payments, credit limits, product catalogs, and financial data synchronized across systems without manual intervention.

STEP 04

Automation Focus

Prioritized automation of high-impact workflows — scheme configuration, eligibility calculation, settlement processing, and SPGS order management — to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.

STEP 05

Mobility Enablement

Developed a native Android application to extend DMS capabilities to distributors in the field, enabling self-service access to orders, payments, schemes, and account information.

Solutions Delivered

A single platform, from distributor onboarding to scheme settlement — with SAP in sync throughout.

The DMS became the single point for every distributor interaction, backed by a configurable scheme engine, an automated settlement engine, full SPGS automation, and a real-time SAP integration layer — all reachable from a native mobile app.

DMS Platform

A centralized Distributor Management System serving as the single platform for all distributor interactions — from registration and onboarding to order management, payment tracking, and scheme participation.

Dynamic Scheme Management Engine

A flexible, configurable engine supporting multiple concurrent schemes with varying eligibility criteria, tier structures, incentive calculations, and regional variations. Internal teams create, modify, and manage schemes without developer intervention.

SPGS Automation

The complete Solar Power Generating System lifecycle — from order placement through tracking, fulfilment, and settlement — automated end to end, eliminating manual coordination bottlenecks and providing full visibility.

Centralized Scheme Settlement

An automated settlement engine that calculates distributor payouts from scheme rules, handles multi-level approvals, and generates settlement reports for finance. Reconciliation across regions and product lines now happens within the platform.

Seamless SAP Integration

Real-time bi-directional SAP synchronization keeps orders, payments, credit limits, product data, and financial transactions consistent across the DMS and ERP. Changes in either system are reflected in near real-time.

Distributor Mobile App

A native Android app giving distributors comprehensive self-service: place orders, track payments, monitor credit limits, view active schemes, record secondary sales, access invoices, and update payment acknowledgements — all from their devices.

What It Means for the Business

A distribution operation that finally moves at the speed of its network.

Beyond the platform itself, Genus gained real-time visibility, automated financial workflows, and a distributor experience built for self-service — across the entire network.

Real-time SAP synchronization

Orders, payments, credit limits, and product data stay consistent across SAP and the DMS in near real-time, across the entire distribution network.

Fully automated scheme management

Scheme configuration, eligibility calculation, and settlement processing are 100% automated — removing manual effort and the errors that came with it.

Distributor self-service, in the field

A mobile self-service app empowers distributors with end-to-end visibility and control over their orders, payments, schemes, and accounts.

Centralized order, payment & credit

Order, payment, and credit management consolidated into a single platform, replacing the fragmented tools distributor processes used to depend on.

SPGS lifecycle automation

The Solar Power Generating System lifecycle is fully automated from order to settlement, closing the coordination and visibility gaps that slowed it down.

Fewer disputes, stronger relationships

Transparent, rule-based settlement calculations reduce disputes, while real-time access to account and scheme details improves distributor satisfaction.
